Viewings
Viewings shall commence once all the litter have reached 5 weeks old and have been microchipped thus enabling guaranteed puppy identification/allocation
Deposits
A deposit of £250 Is required upon choosing your pup, the microchip details will be added to your customer details, and this can be later checked upon collection of your pup. All deposits are un-refundable unless for some reason we are unable to provide you with that pup for health reasons or should evidence come to light that your home may no longer be suitable.
Vaccinations
We do offer first vaccination as part of our sale however in some cases this is not advised by the vets due to big differences in vaccines stocked at varying veterinary practices. YOU therefore must ensure that you have your puppy registered and booked in for their second vaccination on time as has to be given exactly 28day from the first. In a lot of cases new families prefer to obtain a puppy pack deal from their own vets which will include both first and second vaccine, this is to ensure there are no problems later on. We will offer you a choice of lepto 2 or lepto 4 and we advise you do your own research on these products as there are risks with all vaccines. We will of course, refrain from administering any vaccines at your request however we do strongly recommend you consider this very carefully before taking the decision not to vaccinate.
Collection
Your puppy becomes your property once the final balance has been paid, usually when the puppy is collected at week 8. At this point you will receive your puppy pack, insurance details, receipts , feed, and vets records. YOU MUST provide your puppy with a suitable carry cage for safe journey home or completion of sale may be delayed. Puppies are expected to be collected on the 8th week, past this time will mean further boarding costs are incurred. Should puppies not be collected with in the 3 days of the collection date, the puppy will be resold. You can of course arrange later date collections please see additional boarding.
Additional boarding
Should you require a pre-arranged extended collection date, boarding fees are charged at £12.50 per day which includes feed and insurance. This will be added to the final balance and must be pre-paid on time with the final balance on the 8th week. Maximum boarding of three weeks, or 6 weeks in any rolling year.
Insurance
We provide you with one months free insurance with PetPlan, during this time we strongly recommend you take your pup for a full health check with your vet, and that you continue to insure your pet for the future.
Home checks
We are making a few changes to our home checking policy. Nothing to worry about, but we are now including a few extra checks.
Here are a list of the changes and reasons behind them:
· Tighter security checks
· Compulsory home checks
· References
· Rehoming policy added to contract
All applications will be asked to provide proof of address and conduct a virtual home tour: our doors are always open for you to come here and visit us, but we haven't always been able to check the homes our babies are going to , which when you think about it is probably the one most vital check we should ensure we do. The reasons for this has been that I am pretty much a sole operator and it is not possible for me to leave a litter of pups alone here while I go galivanting around the country looking at peoples kitchens lol, the cost of which would have to be included in the price of the pup as well, it isn't ecologically sound or indeed convenient either. One good thing this lock down has taught me, is to embrace the technology available to us. So I am now conducting virtual home checks by way of FaceTime, zoom, and skype. Upon taking your application I will ask you to provide proof of identity such as passport or photo driving liscense and also proof of address such as rent book, mortgage agreement, utility bill
The addition of two personal references will now be required before we will consider a new home for either a pup or an older dog. This is as simple as two people who have known you for two years or more, and are willing to sign a declaration to confirm this. It will read something along the lines of they know you, and they can confirm that there are no reasons to their knowledge that you would not provide a stable , safe and happy home to a new pup or older dog.
We have also improved our rehoming policy statement from being a nice thing to have, to something that is now compulsory, before we were asking people to return pups to us if they were to rehome them, we are now making it a legal requirement as part of our sale of contract. This is not to cause you more problems down the line, but is in fact going to make that whole process so much less painful and worrying for you and for the pup. We do of course hope this will never need to be used, but if it does its there for you. Knowing that we offer this free service to our clients means that should we find any of our pups out there for resale without our knowledge we will be able to take legal action into getting those pups back safe where they belong.
We are now making our rehoming policy a contractually binding as of the end of this month. Please read through carefully, it will be added to the sale contract and terms and conditions for all future sales going forward.
Rehoming policy
It is part of our sale of contract that any pup bought from us must be returned to us in the unfortunate event that you wish to rehome them. You will not be judged or ridiculed for your descion; it will be hard enough for you to do this without feeling you are being judged. I know dogs, and I know people and there are no two alike. What is good for one may not be good for another. Whatever your reasons, I will ensure you are treated with nothing but dignity and respect in the event you need to rehome your pup. The reason we want dogs returning to us, is simple, we want to protect you, the dog, and the new owners, and by returning the dog to us, we are able to do all three simultaneously.
Why we do this
Firstly we are able to offer you help and assistance if you were unsure about your decision and maybe offer solutions to enable you to stay together.
If this above isn't an option then we are able to take the dog off your hands immediately, which may be needed in such cases as you become evicted or other such unfortunate circumstances.
We do not rehome straight away. We keep the dog here to monitor their health and training needs. We want to ensure that new home is given the same opportunities you had when you first took your pup home. We would ask you to provide an accurate account of dogs medical history , feeding and exercise regimes. Again no judgement, its so we can put things right if need be, and done in the strictest confidence. Should you during their time here with us at any stage wish to reverse your decision to rehome then you are perfectly within your rights to do so. Once however money has exchanged hands and new contracts signed by the new owners, this sale will be full and final.
New homes are vetted and asked to provide the same evidence to suitability as anyone buying a new pup would have to do. They will also be asked to sign a contract as all paperwork will be transferred to them officially when the time comes.
New homes are also entitled to our full after care and lifetime support. Just because this will be an older dog doesn’t mean we wont offer the same care and support, in fact it maybe in some cases this is needed more as the older dogs will have more of a complex history. Coming home to their birthplace is actually a good experience for them, they will be reunited with mother, grandmother and siblings and soon be back to a balanced state of mind. We will monitor them, nurture and love them, and once they start life in their forever home, will be there 24/7 with any queries and support they or their families require.
Both yours and the new families identities will be kept anonymous, known only by us. We will not disclose them to you or you to them unless this is specifically required by both parties. This prevents you from contacting them with second thoughts or them contacting you with issues. This is what we are for, a middleman, to address yours theirs and pups needs privately and confidentially.
When dog comes to us, we change the microchip details back to net and rues and all paperwork back to net and rues thus giving pup a fresh start and keeping your identity safe.
Once the pup/dog is ready to be rehomed we will transfer ownership to the new family and money will exchange hands, this money will then be forwarded back to the previous owner, I will deduct however just enough money to cover vets fees and food for your dog. We do not charge for any of the work we put in, housing, training, walking, grooming, or the admin involved in responsible rehoming. we only take out expenses and provide receipts.
Dog trafficking has become more and more of an issue , people buying from one place to sell on to another for profit. I started off as an animal lover wanting to breed a few pups, now I spend a good 75% of my time doing police work, scrupulous book keeping and constant referencing to ensure my babies have a long and happy life to the best of my ability. If you try to rehome your dog yourself, you will be walking into a mine field of problems, that once you have sold your pup on , have no way of knowing if you have led them straight into the hands of a trader or puppy mill. We have the knowledge and the experience, and even we can get it wrong. Don’t risk it, bring them back to their family and let us get it right. – Net Net and Rues Cavapoos,2020
